What we do
GoldRate shows the gold rate today along with live silver, platinum, palladium, crude oil, currency exchange and cryptocurrency prices. The site detects your country automatically and displays prices in your local currency, with a switcher to view rates anywhere in the world. Prices refresh every minute, so you always see the latest market value.
Why we built it
Millions of people check the gold price every day before buying jewellery, selling old gold, or simply keeping an eye on the market. Yet many rate websites are slow, cluttered, or hard to read. We wanted a clean, quick and trustworthy alternative that works the same on a phone or a laptop, and shows the right currency for wherever you are.
Where our data comes from
We use reputable public market-data sources for metal, currency and crypto prices, and convert them into your local currency using live exchange rates. Gold is broken down by karat (24K, 22K, 21K, 18K) and by weight (per tola, per gram, per 10 grams and per troy ounce) so the numbers match how gold is actually bought and sold in your region.
How to read our rates
- Our prices are indicative market rates, the fair value of the metal itself.
- Local jewellers usually add a making charge and sometimes taxes on top, so a shop price can be a little higher.
- Rates move throughout the day. The time shown as "Live" tells you how fresh the number is.
A quick, honest disclaimer
GoldRate is for information only and is not financial advice. We work hard to keep prices accurate, but markets move fast and data feeds can have small delays or errors. Always confirm the final rate with a trusted local dealer before you buy or sell.
